GAP Year Options

More and more students are considering taking a year off at the end of Year 12 to:

 have a break from study and school 

♦

 earn money to pay for university or college courses

♦

 qualify for the government's Independent Youth Allowance  which is under review since the May 2009 budget. Details TBA.

♦

 travel.

There are many things to consider, especially financial implications, and a huge variety of GAP year options available.

Australian Defence Force GAP Year

Another GAP year option was available for the first time in 2007.  This is the new Australian Defence Force GAP year where participants can earn between $33,000 - $46,000 over 12 months.
